Beach Yoga with Fabletics

Hi guys! I’ve got something exciting to share with you all today. Ready for it? One word… Fabletics!

If you haven’t heard of Fabletics yet, allow me to rock your world. Imagine a gorgeous conference room, Kate Hudson, a team of incredible women marketers, and a massive pile of workout clothing. What do you get from that? A custom tailored monthly workout wear service that ranges in sizes up to a 3XL. That’s right… THREE XL! Amazing. Gone are the days of wading through the racks and bins at Marshalls or squeezing into the latest Victorias Secret sport pieces. Seriously, I am in love.

This is a big one for me because normally I’m not really known for blogging about outfits, let alone anything with a plus size theme. But I feel like this one’s important. I used to be a lot smaller than I was but full disclosure, I stopped smoking a few years back and curbed a few additional bad habits. Ergo, weight gain and lots of it. Don’t get me wrong, I’m not down on myself. I’m an incredibly happy person, I eat well and I love to exercise. This is just the way my body is now. So it was incredibly refreshing when Fabletics was introduced to me. The clothing is really great. Everything fits well and you can choose each item that comes in your outfit in any size that works best. Also it’s affordable. Very affordable. Prices range from $19 – $49.95 monthly and you can always choose to skip a month. They put out new styles and collections all the time so you can build up an awesome workout wear collection without having to spend a ton of money or time.

Thanks so much to the team at Fabletics for giving me this amazing new found confidence and my girl Christine Michelle Photography for these sparking photos. I hope you all give their service a try! Seriously, I promise you it’s worth it.

Weekend Brunch at Cibo Wine Bar

Happy Monday guys! I’m sorry to do this to you all right now but I have to share a look at the most incredible brunch I experienced last weekend. If anything this will give you motivation to get through the week. Cibo Wine Bar is well known in the Miami area for their awesome cocktails, incredibly fresh italian fare and of course, for their buffet style brunch. I’m going to be honest with you guys, I did not take that many photos because this brunch was jam packed from start to finish with a group of my favorite girls and courses upon courses of different food. I will say though, I am super excited to go back for another weekend brunch date asap!

The buffet area is filled with a big section of cheese, breads and pastries to start, then you move into a homemade waffle station (yes you heard that right), then onto a bunch of  their regular italian menu style items (pasta, pizza) and eggs from there. They also have an array of desserts sprinkled in like my all time fav, key lime pie. Just as a tip, if you are a bloody mary fan you are going to want to order one as soon as you arrive. I had a few, and they were the perfect balance of horseradish, veggies and vodka. Yummmm I could use another right now actually! Overall Cibo definitely has a permanent spot in my weekend brunch rotation and I actually am going to head back for dinner next week. I will keep you all posted, just make sure to keep an eye on my Instagram. Do you have any favorite South Florida brunch spots? I would love to know. Leave me a comment here on the blog or send me a message on social media!

Beachside Dinner at Sirens Table

Hey South Florida Lovers! Today I’m here to tell you about a really gorgeous new restaurant open in the Westin Fort Lauderdale, Sirens Table. I was invited to dinner there last night (for those of you who saw my Insta and were wondering) and the whole experience was awesome!! For a restaurant just getting started, they really have pretty much everything dialed in. We were given a 5 course tasting menu that walked through some of the main menu highlights and favorites. With each new course, the chef came out and talked to us about the food and the story behind it. It turns out that a lot of their fish and produce are locally sourced in South FL which is music to my ears. Checkout some of my favorite moments below!

Our Menu:
Amuse Bouche – Ahi Tuna Tartare Tostada
First – Lobster Bisque Cappuccino
Second – Spinach & Watermelon Salad
Third – Butter and Lemon Braised Scallops
Main – Dry Aged Prime Rib New York Strip
Dessert – Passion Fruit Panna Cotta

Equally as exciting as the menu itself was the wine/cocktail parting to go along with it! Sirens Table has a really incredible selection of house cocktails, a few of which you can see in the photos here. My favorite? The Sirens Song (YUM!).

The last few photos of our NY Strip and dessert were too dark to share here, but I will tell you they were two of the best courses. The NY Strip was served on a bed of potatoes and creamed spinach that absolutely blew my mind. I would like to extend a huge thank you to the Sirens Table family for having my friends and I out for this incredible meal. I definitely can’t wait to head back again!

If you are in the FTL area in the upcoming months I would make sure to check out what fun things the staff here are up to. They have exciting events coming up with Tortuga Fest and the FTL Air Show!

Why you should join a CSA

Hi guys! The last few posts of mine here have been really focused on the social side of my life. Events, brunches, meet-ups, travels… all that fun stuff. So today I wanted to share something really cool with you that has also been a big part of my live over the past several months. In November of last year right after James and I got back from New Orleans, we joined our first CSA.

What’s a CSA you might ask? Well, it stands for Community Shared Agriculture. Basically it’s a weekly share of fruits and veggies from a local farm, in our case the Little River Cooperative here in Miami. Every Saturday we head up to the Upper East Side Farmers Market and pickup our share. One of the best things is that the contents of the share each week are different. It’s usually a mix of greens, veggies, and sometimes fruit. The other cool part is that it comes from Little River, as well as a few other local farms. but yes, it’s 100% from South Florida.

I’ve enjoyed being part of this CSA for so many reasons. It’s been a great way to get more involved with our community, it gets us out of the house early every Saturday morning, and we have an incredibly selection of produce to choose from all week. So much of our box is stuff that I would probably not normally buy while making a routine trip through the grocery store, so I’ve actually learned a lot about new fruits and veggies in the process. Here’s a look at some of the things you could see in any given week:

Kale, purple and orange carrots, red and green mustard greens, arugula and mixed salad lettuce with edible flowers, fennel, kohlrabi, heirloom beefsteak, grape and cherry tomatoes, florida grown organic brown rice, dandelion greens, calabaza pumpkin wedges, savoy cabbage, traditional cabbage, baby spinach, rapini, french sorrel, brocolli, cilantro, parsley, dill, oregano, garlic chives, scallions, spring onions, lettuce heads, escarole, frisee, beets, collards, turnips, french breakfast, daikon, and watermelon radishes, tricolored french beans, eggplants, asian greens like tat soi, bok choi, hon tsai tai and pei tsai, cucumbers, jalapeno peppers, celery, summer squash, purslane, swiss chard, sweet corn, strawberries, bananas, papayas, roselle stalks, starfruit, fresh moringa leaves, lemongrass, loquats foraged from the neighborhood, grapefruit, sweet potatoes and more!

My favorite thing so far? The purple and orange carrots. If you have a chance to be part of a CSA in your community I would highly suggest it. Our membership, which lasts about 20 weeks was right around $500. It comes out to about $25 a week for a box of locally grown veggies and fruits. It might seem like a lot, but believe me when it comes to produce now a days I would always go for quality over quantity. James and I have had a really fun time using all the ingredients each week and you can check out some of our latest recipes on my Instagram!
